I wasn't sure if we needed the creatures in the environment or not. I created my environment and if we need the creatures in it then I can put them in and resubmit my blog entry.
Yes, please put the “M” creatures into the composition! Here is what I need for you to adjust: Shift the palette to Analogous (remove that purple, orange, and turquoise) Add texture and pattern Adjust the placement of the rocks, snow, and critters so that the viewer’s eye is directed around the composition (put the critters in first) As for the critters, consider adjusting the height and weights (everyone is a square right now)
Where are your characters?? I would really like to see these fist walking monsters in your environment, it seems like they would fit well. It would be really fun if you had them in a pack, like penguins or something.
As for your environment, I am not sure where your light source is. Pick where your sun is and draw it if you have to, but that will make everything else feel solid.

Yes, your creatures need to be in your environment.
You need more than a gradient to use the exploit the qualities you can get from patterns.
Analogous, if your going with a cool blue, keep it close to the hue family, don't travel outside blue.
Your character will greatly affect your composition, it will be interesting to see it in there.
